As Hispanic population grows business opportunities multiply

(ARA) - The estimated Hispanic population of the United States is nearly 105 million people, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. This makes people of Hispanic origin the nation's largest ethnic minority, according to the Pew Hispanic Center. Latinos account for half the U.S. population growth since 2000 and that number is expected to continue to increase, making it one of the fastest growing market segments.

It was with that in mind that Clayton Cathcart opened the first tax office in 1996 in Jackson County, Ore., to serve the area's Hispanic population. That office has not only sustained itself through many years and the current recession, but continues to grow. This specialized service business is now open to franchisees nationwide.

Like many Americans, Hispanics need assistance with tax preparation services but traditional tax offices often lack bilingual staff, making very few equipped to offer services specifically for the Hispanic community, according to the Credit Union National Association. "It is a rare opportunity to find a business that has little or no competition and provides a needed service to an overlooked market," says Cathcart, owner of Listo Tax Solutions. He says the recent growth of the Hispanic population has created an underserved community that is seeking professional services that meet their individual needs.

"We are the first franchise agency to offer complete tax, accounting, payroll and translation services to the Hispanic community," says Cathcart. "We are changing client expectations of what a tax agency should be and providing the consumer with professional, respectful service."

Listo franchisees provide year-round, top-of-the-line tax preparation and accounting services to the nation's largest emerging market, Hispanics.

Some of the advantages of franchising with Listo include:

* Experience and a proven business model

* An easy-to-use system. No tax or accounting experience is necessary.

* Recession-resistant. Taxes must be filed every year, no matter what the state of the economy

* Tools to reach the community

* No need to be bilingual

* Comprehensive training

* Ongoing support

Listo Tax Solutions offices stand out based on the integrity of the services provided to the Hispanic community as well as the trust built around dealing with personal financial data.

Many in the Hispanic community speak English, but when they are dealing with important financial information they feel more comfortable communicating in their native language. While they don't need to speak Spanish, Listo Tax Solution franchisees do need to be passionate about business ownership and committed to serving their community. An affordable minimum investment is also required.
